fitness and injury risk reduction training with
robin edwards
Our injury risk reduction and fitness sessions are designed to both build and protect athletesβ bodies, helping skaters perform at their best while supporting long-term health and longevity in the sport. Injury reduction sessions are strongly rooted in Pilates principles, focusing on improving movement quality, addressing muscular imbalances, enhancing stability, and strengthening areas that are particularly vulnerable in figure skating such as the ankles, knees, hips, and lower back.
Alongside this, fitness sessions are designed to develop the strength, power, endurance, and conditioning needed for high-level skating and programme performance. Together, these sessions help athletes build stronger, more resilient bodies that can better cope with the physical demands of training and competition.

from me to you
Throughout my skating career, I pushed my body to its limits, and in my Olympic year I suffered a serious spinal injury that resulted in surgery and lifelong nerve damage. Looking back, I truly wish there had been more awareness and support around injury prevention, recovery, strength, and looking after the body within such a physically demanding sport. Itβs one of the biggest reasons I feel so strongly about helping skaters train in a smarter, more sustainable way β not just for performance, but for long-term health and wellbeing too.
These sessions are led by my mum, someone who has walked every step of my journey alongside me and understands firsthand the physical and emotional demands of elite sport. She is incredibly passionate, highly qualified, and deeply knowledgeable in fitness, mobility, strength, and wellness, with a genuine commitment to helping athletes build strong, resilient bodies in a supportive and positive environment.
