Performance Nutrition with

DR rianne costello

Performance nutrition for figure skaters focuses on fuelling the body to support training, recovery, growth, and competition performance. Figure skating is an incredibly demanding sport that requires strength, power, endurance, concentration, and consistency, making proper nutrition essential both on and off the ice.

Our approach to performance nutrition helps skaters understand how to fuel effectively for training sessions, competitions, recovery, and overall wellbeing, while also building healthy long-term habits and a positive relationship with food. Guidance is tailored to the individual athlete, supporting energy levels, recovery, injury prevention, and performance potential at every stage of development.

from me to you

Throughout my career, I experienced a lot of misinformation around nutrition, as well as challenges with body image and under-fuelling. These experiences have made me deeply passionate about ensuring athletes have access to effective, supportive, and trustworthy guidance that genuinely helps them perform and feel their best.

Rianne worked closely with me, throughout my Olympic year, joining my team at one of the most challenging periods of my career as I prepared to undergo spinal surgery. With her knowledge and experience, she supported me through every stage of the journey — from pre-surgery preparation and recovery to returning to the ice and ultimately competing at the Olympics.

We both believe that every athlete is a person first, with individual needs, challenges, and goals both within and beyond sport. My approach has always been to look at the whole athlete, recognising that performance, health, wellbeing, recovery, and mindset are all deeply connected. Nutrition is one important part of that picture, and my passion is helping athletes thrive not just in sport, but in life as a whole.
