Physiotherapy with

terassa Taylor-Kaveney

Rehabilitation with us is led by Terassa Taylor-Kaveney, a highly experienced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Sports Medicine who brings elite-level expertise that goes far beyond general physiotherapy. Her background within British Ice Skating and work as Lead Medical and Physiotherapy support for Team GB athletes means she has a deep understanding of the unique physical and technical demands of figure skating, including the importance of managing training load and safely maintaining essential ice time during recovery.

Unlike standard rehab approaches, Terassa’s work is specifically tailored to skaters, ensuring rehabilitation is fully integrated with performance needs rather than separated from them. She combines clinical expertise with real-world elite sport experience, allowing for a more precise, informed, and sport-specific recovery process.

With the ability to support athletes both in person and online, she offers flexible, ongoing guidance throughout every stage of rehabilitation. This ensures skaters receive consistent, high-level care wherever they are, helping them return to the ice safely, confidently, and as strongly as possible.

About teressa

Terassa Taylor-Kaveney is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health with extensive experience across the NHS, private practice, and elite sport. She holds a BSc (Hons) from Brunel University and an MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health from UCL, and has progressed to Clinical Specialist level, leading expert physiotherapy teams and working within British Ice Skating.

She has acted as Lead Medical and Physiotherapy support for British Ice Skating, including at the Winter Olympics, where she supported Team GB athletes through high-performance training and complex injury rehabilitation. Her experience includes working closely with elite skaters such as Kristen Spours, including management of complicated and long-term injuries, guiding athletes safely back to training and competition.

She specialises in sports injuries, complex and failed rehab cases, post-operative orthopaedic care, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, injury risk reduction, and return-to-sport pathways across all levels—from recreational participants to elite athletes. Alongside her clinical work, she is actively involved in academia, teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and contributing to ongoing research in sports medicine.

Her approach is centred on helping individuals recover, move well, and continue doing what they love—supporting athletes to stay “themselves” through sport and physical activity.

from ME TO YOU

From my experience, a good physio can be the key during those “make or break” moments of injury, where decisions about recovery and return to ice really shape an athlete’s future. Having someone who truly understands not just the body, but the sport itself, changes everything.

I’ve worked with T since I was on the junior national team at 15, and she is the only physio I have ever felt truly understands the sport of figure skating. She is highly qualified and consistently goes above and beyond in every stage of care, always putting the athlete first and thinking beyond just the injury itself.

From being present in my spinal surgery through to the day I skated at the Olympics and beyond, she was there every step of the way, supporting me through some of the most challenging moments of my career. That level of commitment and understanding makes a huge difference when you’re navigating injury, training demands, and the pressure to return at the right time.
